This pendulum stand is an interesting take on both pendulums and zen gardens. The pendulum lightly traces in the sand when set in motion. I find this pendulum Zen stand to be a great tool for meditation. I can't attest to any scrying capabilites, as that isn't how I use it.
I've never played with one of these before but they've always intrigued me. Now I got one! It comes unassembled with no instructions so you have to figure it out. It seemed fairly obvious how to put it together except I didn't know what the stick was for. There are two bags of sand: one to use and one for extra sand down the road. The amount of sand seems to be perfectly measured so don't add any extra until you know for sure you'll need it. The pendulum is already correctly lengthened but it's adjustable with a little thumb screw on top. Getting the sand just right was the hardest part because it needs to be concave, not level. I used the stick to make it concave by laying the stick across the top and pressing in the middle and then rotating the stick to repeat all around. After the sand was distributed correctly and the pendulum swung several times, it worked great. It can flick sand off the edges if swung too hard but easy enough to clean up.
I found this pendulum to be of good quality, it decorates my space well, and it helps me to relax when I see it moving.

First and foremost, an item like this needs to look good on the desk and it does. It's decent quality and very pleasing to watch as it traces patterns in the sand. It's relaxing and interesting - I'd buy this as a gift for a friend without any hesitation.
I just had to have this pendulum and it did not disappoint. I love the color the overall design. Assembly is very easy and within minutes I was asking questions from the world of the divine and walked away felling reassured in my seeking.
